Sam heads up the Melbourne office of PJA and brings over 15 years’ experience in civil engineering, drainage, road design and Water Sensitive Urban Design across complex urban environments. He leads PJA’s civil design team and stays closely involved in every project, from concept through to delivery on site.

Sam’s technical strengths lie in balancing engineering performance with urban design, safety and movement priorities. An accredited Healthy Streets Designer and Practitioner, he applies contemporary approaches including Healthy Streets and Safe System frameworks, and is adept at leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging Council stakeholders.

He has delivered a wide range of public and private projects, including street upgrades, cycling corridors, parks and reserves, sports ovals and education campuses. Sam brings a genuine passion for early engineering engagement at concept stage, ensuring creative, credible designs are delivered to the fullest extent while making the most of available funding.
