We are seeking a well-rounded Transport Planning/Engineering Consultant to join our team in Perth, who can help us to meet the growing portfolio of exciting projects across Australia.
While our ideal candidate for this role will have at least two years’ experience we would also welcome speculative applications from people with greater levels of experience looking to join our transport planning team in Perth. We are looking for motivated individuals who wish to contribute to shaping and growing a high performing, dynamic team, working seamlessly across our national business.
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or above with experience in transport planning/engineering in either a private sector consultancy or public sector environment. We will also consider applications from candidates who have followed a different path into the industry such as through an apprenticeship.
They should have experience of working as part of a team on small to medium sized transport engineering commissions with both public and private sector clients (degree of autonomy dependant on experience and role). They will be a confident communicator verbally and in writing, required to present and communicate their ideas clearly and concisely both internally and also to a wide range of external audiences.
Depending on experience level, our ideal candidates will also have some, but not necessarily all, of the following alongside a strong motivation to learn and develop skills in the movement of people and goods:
- Experience in private sector development planning projects including the production of transport assessments
- Experience in public sector facing transport planning projects (such as movement strategies, regeneration projects, preparation of studies to support transport planning/engineering)
- Experience in the production of, and providing advice regarding, transport strategies and policies
- Basic experience/understanding of traffic modelling with a technical background and knowledge of software
- Excellent communication skills and interface with clients
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques, and experience in interrogation, analysis and presentation mindful of the needs of different audiences
- The ability to undertake focussed, problem-solving tasks with an appropriate degree of independence to arrive at solutions to often complex challenges
- An understanding of the planning process in Western Australia, and experience of applying WA government policy and guidance to projects.
